Neil Jordan’s ‘Byzantium’ and Kirsten Sheridan’s ‘Dollhouse’ are among 17 Irish titles that will be selling at market at the Cannes International Film Festival, which gets underway this Wednesday (May 16).

Other Irish films set to sell and screen at the market include Irish director Ciaran Foy’s ‘Citadel,’ which was co-produced by Dublin-based Blinder Films; Sonny and Skye Productions ‘Songs For Amy’ and Element Pictures co-produced feature ‘Shadow Dancer,’ which stars Clive Owen and Aidan Gillen.

The list of features and documentaries selling at market was announced by the Irish Film Board last Friday (May 11). Of the 17 features and documentaries, 11 will be screened at the festival, which runs until May 27.

The market screenings include Sheridan’s ‘Dollhouse,’ which was co-produced by Factory and will screen on May 19; Foy’s ‘Citadel’ (May 18, 20); Revolution Films’ co-produced Belfast-based feature ‘Good Vibrations’ (May 17, 21); director Keiran J Walsh’s Cyprus Avenue Films-produced film ‘Jump,’ (May 19); ‘Songs For Amy’ (May 23); Magma Films’ ‘Legends Of Valhalla – Thor’; ‘Shadow Dancer’ (May 17, 19); Fantastic Films’ co-produced ‘Stitches’ (May 17, 21) and Cartoon Saloon’s animated feature ‘Moon Man’ (May 18, 20, 21)

Irish co-produced documentaries that will also screen at market are Quidam Productions ‘El Gusto’ (May 18, 21) and Dublin-based Fastnet Films co-production ‘Anton Corbijn Inside Out’ (May 17, 21)

The six features and documentaries which do not have confirmed market screenings are Parallel Films’ co-production ‘Byzantium,’ which is being sold by Westend Films; IFTA Award-winning filmmaker Mac Dara Ó Curraidhín’s documentary; ‘A Boatload of Wild Irishmen,’ sold by Wavelength Pictures; Carol Morley’s documentary ‘Dreams of a Life,’ sold by Entertainment One Films International; the Samson Films co-produced feature ‘Grabbers,’ sold by Salt; ‘Kelly & Victor,’ sold by Hot Property Films and the documentary ‘Snake Dance,’ sold by Thank You and Good Night Productions.

Contacts for all Irish films at market, as well as the Irish delegates in attendance, will be available at the Irish Pavilion in Cannes, which is run by the Irish Film Board and is the focal point for the Irish film industry.

The Pavilion will be located in the festival’s international village at the Village International Esplanade Georges Pompidou, and is open from 1pm this Wednesday. It will then open daily until May 24 from 9.30am to 6.30pm, except on May 19 when it will close at 4.30pm.
