Colin Farrell has reportedly been offered the lead role in writer-director Akiva Goldsman’s upcoming project ‘Winter’s Tale’.
Farrell (Intermission, Ondine), who will next be seen in ‘Total Recall’, is the top choice for the Warner Brothers’ backed movie and will star opposite ‘Downton Abbey’ actress Jessica Brown Findlay should he accept the role, according to Variety.
Russell Crowe and Will Smith are also expected to take on supporting roles in the film, which will be adapted from American author Mark Helprin’s 1983 novel of the same name.
The supernatural thriller is set in 20th century New York at the turn of the century and follows a thief breaks into a mansion and meets the dying girl who lives there.
If Farrell doesn't take the offer, Goldsman is reportedly considering Luke Evans, Garrett Hedlund, Liam Hemsworth, Aaron Johnson and Benjamin Walker.
