Tim Roth’s inclusion amongst the jurors at Cannes, the resignation of DreamWorks’ head of physical production and Cillian Murphy’s new movie are amongst the international stories in today’s Daily Bite.
Tim Roth to head jury at Cannes… English actor Tim Roth (Pulp Fiction) will lead the Un Certain Regard jury at this year’s Cannes film festival, according to The Guardian. Roth will head up an as-yet-unannounced group of filmmakers and journalists through a shortlist of 20 films competing for the Prix Un Certain Regard – the top prize of the Cannes’ “original and different” selection. Last year's Prix Un Certain Regard was shared by Korean drama ‘Arirang’ and German film ‘Stopped on the Tracks’.
DreamWorks’ executive resigns… DreamWorks’ head of physical production Steve Molen has resigned from the company amid financial difficulties at the studio, reports Deadline. His resignation follows a fall in physical production at the studio due to last year’s ‘Cowboys & Aliens’ and ‘Fright Night’ under-performing. More resignations at the studio are expected.
