Irish producers Parallel Films are developing the mini-series ‘Echo Chamber’ for HBO and Sky Atlantic. The series will be set in 1980s Northern Ireland against the backdrop of The Troubles and will focus on an undercover British soldier who infiltrates the IRA.

The original script is being written by Rupert Wyatt, who is also attached to direct. Wyatt filmed his drama feature 'The Escapist' in Ireland in 2008 and also recently directed 'Rise of the Planet of the Apes'.

Parallel Films’ Alan Moloney (Albert Hobbs, Haywire) will co-produce the planned three 90-minute TV episodes with Sky Atlantic.

As the series is still in development, Moloney was unable to reveal any more details. No decision has been made as to where the series will be shot.

‘Echo Chamber’ has previously received funding from the Irish Film Board. On May 27 last, the project received a €44,346 fiction development loan.
