The Park Studio will host a video blogger course with acclaimed director and producer Niamh Guckian, starting 3 April. The course aims to strip the vlogging process back to basics, so potential vloggers can shoot straight to ideas and leave the hassle behind. Crash courses in camera basics, storytelling, the grammar of moving images, conducting interviews and editing will be held.
Niamh Guckian has been working in broadcast for over 15 years. Having covered a wide variety of genres while working at RTÉ for 10 years, she has been freelancing since 2006, with recent credits on RTÉ’s ‘Dirty Old Towns’ series, featuring gardener and television personality Diarmuid Gavin.
She is also a BBC-trained Trainer, with a keen interest in web-based video and digital media. Her courses aim to reflect this by providing a platform for further exploration in visual media.
The Park Studios, located in Ranelagh in Dublin, provides industry training to those looking to pursue a career in television. The studio’s team consists of TV veteran Marty Whelan, award-winning newsreader Michael Murphy and RTÉ producer and director Denise Dunne, plus more.
The vlogger course costs €295 and runs until Sunday 29 April. Applicants are invited to apply for the course via post to the Park Studios or by phone, 01-2196510. Visit www.theparkstudio.ie for more details.
