Northern Irish actor Jamie Dornan has joined the cast of BBC’s Belfast-based psychological thriller ‘The Fall’, it has been announced.

Dornan, best known for his role as Sheriff Graham in ABC’s ‘Once Upon a Time’, will join ‘X Files’ star Gillian Anderson and fellow Northern Irish actor Gerard McCarthy. McCarthy will also star in the forthcoming ‘Titanic: Blood and Steel’, which will be screened for IFTA members in Dublin on April 10.

As reported on IFTN earlier this month, principal photography began on ‘The Fall’ on Monday March 26 in various locations in Belfast. ‘The Fall’ will follow the lives of serial killer Paul Sector, played by Dornan, and the MET detective hired to catch him, played by Anderson.

The five-part series is being produced by UK-based Artists Studio, with Gub Neal and Julian Stevens producing the Allan Cubitt-written script. Justin Thomson-Glover (Sweeney Todd), Patrick Irwin (Affinity) and Cubitt (Prime Suspect) will executive produce the BBC Two thriller.

Dornan, from Holywood in County Down, recently vowed to stick to acting after admitting his short-lived band ‘Sons of Jim’ were “terrible”.
