IFTA winning Irish actress Ruth Bradley (Primeval, Stardust) will star in the pilot for ABC’s anticipated drama ‘Beauty and the Beast’. The actress has been cast in the lead role alongside Scottish singer/actor Darius Campbell (Pop Idol) and ‘Letters to Juliet’ star Chris Egan.
Ruth will play the embattled ‘Beauty’ Princess Grace who discovers an unlikely connection with a mercenary bodyguard, ‘Beast’ Shiro played by Darius Campbell. Egan will take the role of her fiancé Gorrick.
Jon Steinberg (Jericho) is writing the script for the pilot which will be directed by Yves Simoneau (V, Partners).
Ruth will next be seen in the TV series ‘Titanic’ and her Irish feature film ‘Grabbers’ recently premiered at the Sundance Film Festival.
