New Irish short 'An Cluiche' and Storyland hopeful 'Trouble Times Three' wrap filming.

‘An Cluiche’ Wraps in Dublin

New Irish short ‘An Cluiche’ (The Match) has just wrapped filming on location in Dublin. The short film tells the story of a man who loves his team more than his girlfriend. The cast includes Seán T. Ó Meallaigh (Seacth, An Crisis). Spanish actress Susana Bas (A Step to Happiness, Pretextos) who plays the part of Judy, and with supporting performances from Sibéal Davitt (Restless, Potaisiam) and Andrew Lynch (Our Wonderful Home, Marú).

The short film was produced as part of ‘Físín’, a competition run by the Dingle International Film Festival to promote Irish language filmmaking. As part of the scheme, Teach Solais sponsored the lighting equipment. The camera and lenses were provided by Panavision Ireland.

The film was directed and produced by Cathal Ó Cuaig (Ché, A Step to Happiness) and the Director of Photography was Frankie Leonard (Corp&Anam, Stella Days) .

The film is set to premiere at the Dingle International Film Festival in March 2012.

Storyland ‘Trouble Times Three’ wraps in Monaghan

The first episode of ‘Trouble Times Three’, one of the eight finalists for the 2012 Storyland competition has finished up principal photography in Monaghan at the weekend.

The series is about a guy called Scott, aged thirty, who has been living on the dole, sleeping-in every day, partying most weekends and juggling several girlfriends. We meet him on the week when three girls break it to him that they are pregnant with his baby.

The episode was shot in Monaghan from the 17th-18th December in various locations including the local social welfare office and Junction Nightclub. The episode was written and by Declan Reynolds (Lose The Booze) and Eoin Cleland (Free House, Six Degrees).

Director on the shoot was Eoin Cleland. It was produced by John McKeown and Jessica Duggan from the SixSem Production Company and stars Gemma-Leah Devereaux (Stitches, Marú), Michelle Beamish (Seacht, An Crisis), Audrey Hamilton and Declan Reynolds (Lose The Booze, Puffball).

The first six-minute pilot webisode, which will be released online in February 2012 for a public vote, will rely on Facebook votes on the RTÉ website to keep running. Previous winners of RTÉ Storyland have been 'The Hardy Bucks', 'Zombie Bashers' and 'Lucky Run'.
