The Corona Cork Film Festival have announced highlights from the upcoming festival which include a screening of Jorge Coira’s ’18 Meals’, screening of silent documentaries ‘Rain’ and ‘The Bridge’ with live Foley accompaniment and Vicki Bennett first-time Irish performance of ‘The Magical Misery Tour’.

Audiovisual collage ‘The Magical Misery Tour’ takes place on November 11th and combines a stitching together fiendish horror clips and darkly witty music and a performance from People Like Us, led by artist Vicki Bennett.

Dutch filmmaker Joris Ivens will be honoured at the screening of his silent documentaries on November 14th. The silent docs will be accompanied by the Softday Foley Ensemble, featuring Sean Taylor, Mikael Fernstrom, Foley recording artist Jean McGrath (The Lovely Bones) and Emmy nominated Foley artist Caoimhe Doyle (Game of Thrones).

The festival will also give us a feast of Slow Food on Film with a screening of Jorge Coira’s ’18 Meals’, which follows an eclectic group of characters whose stories unfold over the meals of a day. Coira will be present to introduce the film and the public will be treated to a selection of Cork Food and organic wines.

The 56th Corona Film Festival will take place from November 6th-13th and the full programme will be announced at the end of next week. Tickets for screenings will also be available next week online at www.corkfilmfest.org and at the Festival Box Office located in Cork Opera House.
