Filmbase/RTÉ are seeking entries for the latest round of Short Film Awards before September 30th deadline. The Filmbase/RTÉ funding scheme has been running for over 20 years and has funded over 100 short films. The scheme offers a cash prize of €10,000 towards the budget and a production/post-production package from the Filmbase Equipment department. Two original short films will receive funding in this round and applications are initially assessed on the basis of anonymous script. The winning shorts will receive a broadcast on RTÉ Television.

Producers who came through the scheme include Martin Mahon (The Hospice), Conor Barry (Savage), Edwina Forkin (Swansong – the Story of Occi Byrne), Tamara Anghie (New Boy) and Martina Niland (Once).
This years deadline is 5pm on Friday September 30th and all applicants must send in two copies of their script along with an application form. Applicants must be members of Filmbase. Further information, guidelines, membership forms and application forms are available at www.filmbase.ie/awards.
