Thaddeus O'Sullivan, David Murray & Eva Birthistle on set
Cameras are rolling on a new four-part RTÉ drama ‘Amber’ in the Dublin suburbs. The missing person 4x52 drama series ‘Amber’ is to be directed by Thaddeus O’Sullivan (Single-Handed, Into the Storm) and will feature stars Eva Birthistle (Waking the Dead, Glenroe) and David Murray (Zonad, RAW).

Eva Birthistle and David Murray will play the parents of the young missing 14-year-old girl ‘Amber’.

The drama is currently filming in Suburban Dublin and principle photography will continue until early October. IFTA nominated Peter Robertson (West is West, Inside I’m Dancing) is Director of Photography on the series which is being filmed on Red One. Each episode of ‘Amber’ will focus on an individual who is connected to the case of missing 14-year old girl ‘Amber’, such as friends, family and members of the Gardai Siochana.

‘Amber’ was co-written by Gary Duggan and Rob Cawley. Cawley and Paul Duane (Barbatic Genius) of Screenworks are producers on the series which is will be shown in RTÉ next year. ‘Amber’ received €550,000 funding from the BAI’s Sound and Vision Fund earlier this year.

IFTA winning director Thaddeus O’Sullivan recently directed the feature ‘Stella Days’, which stars Martin Sheen, Stephen Rea, Amy Huberman and Ruth McCabe. ‘Stella Days’ had its world premiere at this year’s Galway Film Fleadh.

Further cast details will be announced in the coming weeks. Post-production details on ‘Amber’ are TBC.
