Bootstrap Films/Pan European Pictures are set to co-produce Len Collin’s ‘To Dream With Open Eyes/Chun Aisling Leis na Súile Oscailte’
‘To Dream With Open Eyes/Chun Aisling Leis na Súile Oscailte’ is a contemporary Crime Thriller set in the West Coast of Ireland. Written by Len Collin, the project was the winner of the Galway Film Fleadh Pitching Award 2010.
Berlin based Pan European Pictures have come on board as co-producers with indie production house Bootstrap Films to produce the crime drama. The film tells the story of an isolated young Gaelgoir farmer Donal, who finds the corpse of a beautiful women on his land. Taking her back to his house, he dresses up the course and he begins to fall in love with her. As she becomes a reality for him, he goes in search of her killer. The film will be in both the Irish and English language.
It will be produced by John Phelan of Bootstrap Films and Judit Ruster of Pan-European Pictures. Producer John Phelan told IFTN that while the script is still being developed, they hope to shoot on locations in the West of Ireland early next spring and location scouting will begin shortly. Irish actress Fiona Glascott (Anton Checkhov’s The Duel) has been cast in the role of Aisling. Further Cast are TBC.
Scribe Len Collin will also direct the bi-lingual film. He has previously directed online soap series ‘The Covies’ which won the 2010 Allianz Business to Arts Award for Creativity. The feature version of ‘The Covies’ was premiered at the Galway Film Fleadh. Len has also worked as a writer on ‘The Bill’, ‘Holby City’, ‘Casualty’, ‘Eastenders’ and ‘The Clinic’.
