The 8x1hour series ‘Treasure Seekers’ is looking to shoot a special Irish edition in early August. The brand new primetime series for Sky Atlantic will follow two antiques and design experts (collector Paul Liengaard and interior designer Sarah Brunner) who will scour the UK and Ireland looking for weird and wonderful items to buy for decoration in photo shoots, festivals and boutiques.
Currently, producers Cineflix are seeking locations in and around Dublin to film in the first week of August. Producers say ideal locations would include stately homes, old farm barns, farms and factories or outbuildings that are crammed full of unwanted items and furniture in need of restoration or old buildings with some original lights or cabinets. The experts will be looking to purchase items from the locations with a key aim of the series being to see unwanted objects restored and reused. The transactions mean that they will also need someone present to act as a representative for the location who is willing to appear on the show to negotiate and authorise the sale.
Rob Carey, Creative Director of Cineflix Productions said of the show “Treasure Seekers is a mix of travelogue, interiors show and transactional TV following two great characters on an adventure – finding cool and stylish retro objects from unlikely places around the UK. The audience shares in the excitement of discovering these hidden treasures and will be able to pick up tips on how to find such objects themselves.”
The reality series is being produced by Cineflix’s Ceri Rowlands with Rob Carey and Nick Cory-Wright executive producing. The series will be airing on Sky Atlantic in late 2011. It will be distributed internationally by Cineflix International. To contact the team about possible locations or collections in or around Dublin, email mmustafa@cineflix.com
Cineflix Productions has produced many non-scripted programmes in the UK including ‘Remote Control Star’ and ‘Animals at Work’ for CBBC and ‘The Unsellables’ for BBC1.
