Adare Productions Get Ready to 'Jig', Series Three in Prep
07 Jul 2011 :
An Jig Gig
Adare Productions are in prep with the third series of TG4’s ‘An Jig Gig’ which will begin shooting this August. The 13 x 54 TG4 series aims to find Ireland’s best traditional dance acts with one winner to be crowned TG4’s An Jig Gig Champion 2011.

The show will be hosted by Róisín Ní Thomáin (Pop4), with former Riverdance lead dancers Breandán de Gallaí and Dearbhla Lennon judging alongside champion Sean-nós dancer Labhrás Sonai Choilm Learrai. The Adare Productions project is directed by Brian Graham (Feis and Blood) and will be produced by Tom Evans (The Afternoon Show). Filming will begin on the show following nationwide auditions on July 29th and 31st, with the ten first round shows to be filmed from August 16th-25th in RTÉ Studios, Dublin.

One winner will be picked from each first round show to take part in the final three shows which are due to shoot later in the year. The winners of the last series were dance trio Irish Beats. Editing will take place in Adare Productions own studios. Series three of ‘An Jig Gig’ will begin broadcast on TG4 in late September and continue until early December.

The show is currently welcoming traditional Irish Dance Acts of all different shapes and sizes, from solo dancers to large troupes, whether Sean-nós or set dancers and there is no age restriction placed on contestants. To apply to take part in the show visit the TG4 website at www.tg4.ie/jiggig and fill out the application form before 28th July . Auditions will take place nationwide from the 29th-31st July.
