Industry sources suggest Natalie Dormer is the first new big-name star to be cast in ‘Game of Thrones’ Season Two. The English actress’ previous roles include Anne Boleyn in ‘The Tudors’.
Dormer will reportedly play Margaery Tyrell, a beautiful young women from the House Tyrell who is pledged to marry Renly Baratheon (Gethin Anthony), the late King Robert’s brother.
Based on the popular book series ‘A Song of Ice and Fire’ by George R.R. Martin, the first series of the fantasy programme was premiered in April to the UK and Ireland on Sky Atlantic. The Second Series is set to shoot in Belfast Paint Hall studios and on locations in Northern Ireland beginning in late July. Funding for the show was received from Northern Ireland Screen supported by Invest NI and part funded by the European Regional Development Fund. Dormer can be seen in the upcoming film ‘Captain America: The First Avenger’ which will be released on July 29th.
