The 12th annual Darklight Film Festival is calling all Irish artist and filmmaking collectives to send in work for this year’s Darklight festival selection.
This year Darklight organisers are looking for submissions from groups or collectives for the festival selection. Submissions of all genres will be welcomed, be they documentary, drama, feature or short.
Darklight 2011 will celebrate the DIY spirit of filmmaking with a spotlight on the grassroots aspects of filmmaking for Irish people including funding, production and distribution.
The festival is particularly looking to feature groups of artists and filmmakers from across Ireland hoping to highlight the different ways in which people have come together to work on projects; whether they be groups of friends, colleagues, community groups, artists or just random folk, all group projects are welcomed.
Projects can be submitted by either email (via links to Vimeo or YouTube if applicable) or post a DVD to info@darklight.ie or to Submissions Darklight Festival, The Factory, 35a Barrow Street, Ringsend, Dublin 4.
Applicants should include information about the group who is submitting work, such as who the individual members are, how they came together and what kind of work the group is interested in. Applications should be sent by June 24th.
More information about the 2011 Darklight programme including the finalised dates for the festival will be announced very shortly at www.darklight.ie.
