Generator Entertainment has confirmed that actors Charlie Cox (Downton Abbey, Stardust) and Luke Goss (Hell Boy 2, Blade 2) are in negotiations to join the cast of ‘The Federation’, a new feature length spy thriller. Julian Sands (The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, Ocean’s Thirteen) has also been connected to ‘The Federation’ and is officially “very interested” in joining the project.
Written and directed by Sven Hughes (Ghost Machine), ‘The Federation’ showcases the hidden war between Russian and British security services and is described as an espionage thriller. Generator’s production team behind the project are Mark Huffman (Saving Private Ryan, Mamma Mia), Simon Bosanquet (Ripley’s Game) and Aidan Elliot (Killing Bono).
Writer and Director Sven Hughes commented on the new cast attached to the project saying: “It’s very exciting that Charlie, Luke and Julian are all at different stages of attaching to the project. They are all British actors, but with global appeal. They also share a certain style: classic gentlemen with real charisma…but also the steely edge required for this subject matter. We’ve been discussing their roles for some time now and I’m pleased with the way our working relationships are developing.”
‘The Federation’ will shoot in late 2011 with locations in the UK and Russia and a spokesman from the film says they do anticipate an Irish element to the shoot although specific locations have not yet been confirmed.
