Powertrip Productions are currently in pre-production with a new feature film 'The Callback Queen' for an April 2011 shoot. Principal Photography for the romantic comedy will take place primarily in London, with additional scenes shooting in May in Oughterard, Co. Galway. Writer/Director Graham Cantwell (Anton) is also currently in pre-production with ‘Seven Songs for Amy’ which he is producing.

’The Callback Queen’ is a romantic comedy set in London's film industry. The story follows the exploits of Kate Loughlin, an ambitious but unlucky actress on the cusp of her big break. Her resolve to maintain her integrity in the cutthroat arena of show-business is put to the test as she gets closer and closer to her desires.

Casting is currently underway with a mix of British and Irish talent expected to be announced mid-March. Olivia Chappell is casting director on the project. The film will shoot in London in April and early May at which point production will move to Oughterard in Co. Galway for what director Graham Cantwell describes as a “film within a film sequence.” Along with writing and directing the feature, Graham will be lighting it and shooting on a format of HDDSLR on the Canon 7D.

Asked where the film is to post Graham tells IFTN he is open to good offers: “We'll be doing all our post in London, unless we get a great deal from someone back home!” Graham and casting director, Olivia Chappell have been in Ireland for the last few days talking to Irish actors about the project and, though he tells us they have some ”really exciting prospects” the director will not confirm any cast members ”until contracts are signed.” The crew are hoping for a completion date for the project at the end of 2011.

Graham is also currently in pre-production with the upcoming feature, ‘Seven Songs for Amy’ where he is on board as producer. The feature will be directed by Konrad Begg (Crimes that Shook the World). ‘Seven Songs for Amy’ is a romantic comedy set in contemporary rural Ireland. It centres around an underground musician called Sean O’Malley who loses the love of his life and tries to win her back. Casting is being finalised at the moment for the film and the shoot is set to begin July 4th for five weeks in locations such as Galway City, Kinvara and Clifden.
