TG4 Goes in Search of ‘Feis and Blood’
27 Jan 2011 :
A new series from Adare Productions will start on Sunday, January 30th on TG4. ‘Feis and Blood’, presented by Sile Seoighe will begin a 13 episode search for Ireland's most entertaining family having auditioned over 300 entertaining families, 80 of whom take part in the series, directed by Brian Graham (The Ex-Files).

Produced by Tom Evans (The Afternoon Show) and inspired by performing Irish families such as The Clancy Brothers and Crystal Swing, ‘Feis and Blood’ will see families from all over Ireland performing on stage. Whether they're singing, dancing or playing music, each family will be facing three judges in the quest to being titled TG4's most talented family in Ireland. Said judges are Aonghus McAnally, Sibéal Davitt and Pádraig O Sé.

Aonghus McAnally comes from a family the members of which are prominent on Ireland’s entertainment scene. Aonghus himself has over 40 years experience as a performer, singer, musician, comedian and television and radio host. Son of the BAFTA award winning actor Ray McAnally( My Left Foot) and actress Ronnie Masterson (Angela's Ashes), Aonghus is married to actress Billie Morton and met her on the stage of the Abbey Theatre. His son Aonghus Óg McAnally is also an actor and winner of both best actor in the 2010 Fringe and Best production in the 2010 Fringe for his show Fight Night.

Sibéal Davitt comes from a musical background and has been sean-nós dancing and playing traditional Irish music from an early age and was the winner of the All-Ireland Glas Vegas talent competition on TG4 in 2009. She is a popular performer and teacher of sean-nós dancing at venues and festivals throughout Ireland and has toured extensively abroad. Finally, Pádraig O Sé is an acclaimed accordion player from Kerry and has played the length and breadth of the country. He is also a popular broadcaster on Raidió na Gaeltachta. Pádraig enjoys nothing more than having a session at home with his own musically talented family, and understands the bond that can develop within families through music song and dance.

Audiences will meet the above judges and the first of the 80 families who perform for them on ‘Feis and Blood’, which starts on TG4 on Sunday, January 30th at 7.15pm.
