Subotica Entertainment is currently in pre-production with two feature films that the group will co-produce with Danish production company, Centropa in spring 2011. The films, ‘A Royal Affair’ and ‘Flowers of Desire’ will shoot in both Ireland and Denmark next year and will be directed by Nikolaj Arcel (writer, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo) and Simon Staho (Day and Night) respectively.

Period drama feature film ‘A Royal Affair’ will shoot in the spring 2011. Directed by Nikolaj Arcel the film will centre around the English Princess Caroline who is married off to King Christian VII at the young age of 15. Her dream of romance is shattered when the king turns out to be a schizophrenic. The film is written be Nikolaj Arcel and Rasmus Heisterberg (Truth about Men) and is produced by Tristan Orpen Lynch (Song for a Raggy Boy) and Sisse Graum Jorgensen (After the Wedding). The feature will shoot in Ireland and Denmark.

’Flowers of Desire’, is a more contemporary tale that will see a former dancer return, for the first time in many years, to his childhood country village to attend his mother's funeral. The man discovers that the love of his youth still lives there, trapped in an unhappy marriage with the town's priest who is charged with the mother's funeral. The dancer and his former lover secretly resume their liaison and slowly rekindle their old - and now forbidden - love.

‘Flowers of Desire’ is written by Simon Staho and Peter Birro (We Can be Heroes!) and will be directed by Simon. The film is being produced by Jonas Frederikssen (Open Hearts) and will shoot - again in both Ireland and Denmark – in May 2011. The post production work on both projects will be carried out in Ireland and the cast and crew members and further production details for both projects are TBC and will be announced in the coming weeks on IFTN.

Subotica’s recent project, ‘Children In Charge: Ireland's Youngest Carers’ will broadcast tonight on RTÉ One at 10.30pm. Filmed and Directed by Gerry Nelson (Dear Frankie, The Riordans) and produced by Ailbhe Maher (Get Collins, Bertie) the one hour documentary centres around Ireland's young carers. The observational doc looks to reveal the reality of what life is like when a child takes on the role of caring for a parent.

From Spanish Point to Trim,‘Children in Charge’ looks to show audiences that all over the country there are children taking on responsibilities beyond their years as they care for an ill family member and will ask if the State should recognise carers of all ages.
