High Wire’s Shane Callan is currently putting the finishing touches on the DVD features of ‘Hardy Bucks’, series one. The series, currently broadcasting on RTÉ1 follows the lives of four lazy but likeable lads from the fictional Castletown and was onlined and graded in High Wire for transmission.
Created by Chris Torduff and Martin Maloney in 2008, ‘Hardy Bucks’ the series first came to audiences’ attention when it was competing in RTÉ’S Storyland in 2009. With three million hits, the web series became an online phenomenon and it enjoyed a Storyland victory which led to its recent broadcast. The series is a co-production by Integral Productions and Hardy Productions. It was filmed in Swinford, Co. Mayo by Simon Keenan and Patrick Downey.
High Wire, along with Gorilla Sound in Herbert Lane provided picture and sound finishing for the ‘Hardy Bucks’ series. All sound mixing and picture grading was provided by both facilities working closely together. Shane Callan graded the series on one of High Wire's DS HD systems and Barry Reid at Gorilla sweetened the audio. Shane is now finishing post work on the special features of the DVD for the series and this work is to be finished up this week.
