U.S. Prepares for 'Kisses'
14 Jul 2010 :
Kisses
The IFTA winning Irish feature ‘Kisses’, written and directed by Lance Daly (The Halo Effect), is set for release in U.S cinemas from Friday 16th July. The film has already enjoyed huge success across the Atlantic, having been officially selected for screening at festivals including Toronto and Miami where it walked away with the event’s Audience Award.

‘Kisses’ follows two young children who decide to run away from their dysfunctional homes and spend a night on the streets of Dublin's inner city. Daly's vision of Dublin, as seen through the innocent eyes of Kisses’ protagonists, is a kaleidoscope of magic, wonder and mystery. But as the night wears on, and Dublin takes on a darker character, the two kids have to rely on the kindness of strangers, the songs of Bob Dylan and their trust in each other to survive.

New York-based Oscilloscope Laboratories are handling the North American rights, whose slate includes So Yong Kim's ‘Treeless Mountain’ and Scott Hamilton Kennedy's ‘The Garden’. The U.S. ‘Kisses’ run will start in Laemmle's on Sunset 5, Los Angeles from Friday 16th July. ‘Kisses’ was produced by Macdara Kelleher (Colony) with Fastnet Films the feature was co-financed the IFB, Film I Vast, the BAI, TV3 and Zentropa.
