It has been announced that, due to personal reasons, Annette Bening will not be present at the Galway Film Fleadh. The Actors Masterclass will be replaced by Ros and John Hubbard for a Casting Masterclass (July 10) and Emmy winning Irish actor Brendan Gleeson will take part in the public interview (July 11)
Gleeson will be the subject of a public interview on Sunday, July 11th at 3:00pm. The Emmy and IFTA award winning actor has starred in projects such as the ‘Into the Storm’, ‘Gangs of New York’, ‘The General’ and the series of ‘Harry Potter’ films. The public interview will see Gleeson answering questions about his career choices, his approach to acting and his upcoming directorial debut in a film adaptation of Flann O'Brien's novel ‘At Swim Two Birds’.
The Casting Workshop, which takes places on July 10th in the Radisson Hotel between 2pm and 5pm, will be hosted by Ros and John Hubbard from Hubbard Casting, a family run Casting business - started by Ros who was later joined by John. At the moment the pair are currently casting for ‘The Hobbit’ and have other projects in the works. Their workshop will look at how to give a successful audition and they hope to work on various audition scenes with members of the audience and explain how to break them down etc.
People interested in attending the public interview with Brendan Gleeson can purchase tickets for the session at the Town Hall box office at a price of €20. Anyone interested in participating in the Casting class, is asked to register their details online with FSTI at www.screentrainingireland.ie and apply for the class through their website. The Masterclass costs €50 and can be paid for on the day.
