Bollywood Comes to Dublin This Weekend

Ireland’s first Indian Film Festival takes place in Dublin this weekend with feature films, seminars and a Bollywood masterclass in store for film enthusiasts. Special guests include directors Prakash Jha, Sangeeta Datta and Suhai Tatari.

22 films will be screened at Dublin’s Swan Cinemas during the course of the Indian Film Festival (25 – 28 June). The Irish premiere of Prakash Jha’s ‘Rajneeti’ will officially open the festival on Friday afternoon with the director attending the screening. Jha will also host an insightful Masterclass on 28 June.

Other highlights include ‘Summer 2007’ which will be introduced by director Suhail Tatari and ‘Life Goes On’ which will be introduced by debut director Sangeeta Datta. The writer in focus will be emanate Indian film and dialogue author Atul Tiwari, whilst rising Indian film star Gul Panag will be attending her first retrospective – which also includes her latest feature and opening film ‘Rajneeti’.
