A new season of ‘The Republic Of Telly’ returns to RTÉ Two this week. Presented by Neil Delamere (The Panel) the show looks to give its audiences another series of TV, comedy, gossip and celebrity guests. In this second series Neil has a new sidekick as Mairead Farrell (The Ray D’Arcy Show) joins the team.
As in the first series comedian Bernard O'Shea (Paddy Muck) and other ‘reporters’ will be on location around the world and each week Mairead Farrell will be in a different location - uncovering the strange secrets of modern Ireland, giving people an unexpected surprise or just making a spectacle of herself. Jennifer Maguire (The Apprentice) also returns and hangs around various red carpets asking questions no one else would ask!
Directed by Bob Corkey (The Podge & Rodge Show) and produced by James Cotter (Tubridy Tonight), ‘The Republic of Telly’ will see Neil continue to take television programmes such as ‘Desperate Housewives’, ‘Operation Transformation’ and ‘The All Ireland Talent Show’ apart and put them back together again. In the first episode of the new series, Neil joins Sigourney Weaver in the sequel to ‘Avatar’, and audiences see if his culinary skills as the new chef in ‘Raw’ can win IFTA nominee, Charlene McKenna's heart.
'The Republic of Telly' begins on RTÉ Two on Monday, February 15th at 9.55pm
