The RTÉ series, ‘RAW’ returns on Sunday, January 10th for a second series. The second series will see the return of cast members including IFTA winner Charlene McKenna (Whistleblower), Keith McErlean (Bachelors Walk), Liam Garrigan (He Kills Coppers) and Ger Ryan (Whistleblower; Family) and the addition of Aisling O’Sullivan (The Clinic).
The premise of the second series of the show introduces a storyline whereby in the past 18 months Dublin's RAW restaurant has been forced to shut with its loyal staff now working elsewhere. However a new owner, Fiona (Aisling O'Sullivan), steps into the breach determined to make the restaurant a success again. Australian chef Geoff (Damon Gameau) is hired as head-chef and immediately begins recruiting his old work mates including boyfriend Pavel (Kristof Pavel), Jojo (Charlene McKenna), Shane (Keith McErlean), Richard (Joe Doyle) and of course Tiny (James Akpotor). But as always the complicated personal lives of the staff overflow into the restaurant making life in RAW as dramatic as ever.
The first series of ‘RAW’ was nominated for several IFTA awards including Best TV Drama Series, Best TV Director for Kieron J. Walsh and Best Editing for Ben Yeates saw an IFTA win in the category for Best TV Actress for cast member Charlene McKenna.
The second series of ‘RAW’ is directed by David Caffrey (Monarch of the Glen), Nick Renton (Silent Witness), Simon Massey (Skins) and written by Lisa McGee (The Things I Haven’t Told You), Tom Farrelly (Raw, Series 1), Muirinn Lane Kelly (Mistresses) and Ursula Rani Sarma. The show’s producer is Matt Strevens (Story Editor, The Bill). Executive Producers are James Flynn (Leap Year), Morgan O'Sullivan (A Shine of Rainbows), Douglas Rae (Nowhere Boy), Suzanne McAuley (Associate Producer, A Shine of Rainbows) and Michael Parke (Imagine Me & You).
‘RAW’ series two will broadcast on RTÉ1 on Sunday, January 10th at 9.30pm.
