Blinder Films’ short film ‘Lowland Fell’ has won the Best Cinematography Award for Suzie Lavelle at the Novara Film Festival in Italy.
‘Lowland Fell’ is written and directed by Michael Kinirons (Treeclimber, Blood and Ink) and produced by Katie Holly (The Basket Case, One Hundred Mornings, Sensation).
The film was photographed by Suzie Lavelle (Blood and Ink, An Creatur, One Hundred Mornings) who has won the Best Cinematography Award at the Novara Film Festival. This follows the Special Jury Prize win at the 2009 Seattle International Film Festival.
‘Lowland Fell’ is a sensual teenage drama that follows the exploits of three youngsters who discover a bog body during the summer. The short stars Jane McGrath (The Clinic), Robert Sheehan (Cherrybomb), and Michael Winder (The Tudors).
‘Lowland Fell’ director Michael Kinirons tells IFTN: "I'm just delighted that Suzie [Lavelle] is starting to get the recognition she truly deserves. Blinder Films are currently finishing post production on two projects: ‘Sensation’, directed by Tom Hall which is an IFB/BSÉ and Rotterdam Film Fund funded feature co-production between Blinder Films and White Bull Films in Rotterdam and ‘The Savage Eye’, directed by Kieron J. Walsh and Damien O’Donnell, which is a six part comedy sketch show starring David McSavage and Pat McDonnell for the RTÉ Autumn season.
The Novara Film Festival took place in the Italian city of Milan from 13 - 17 October 2009.
