Post Production houses Yard Media Ltd and High Wire Ltd have issued a joint statement in relation to recent television and press coverage of FÁS assistant video production manager James Brooke-Tyrrell, charged with defrauding €612,950 from the state training agency.
The statement reads:
“The following statement is issued in order to correct any mis-perceptions regarding the recent television and press coverage concerning Mr. James Brooke-Tyrell.
Yard Media Ltd is a limited liability company.
Yard Media Ltd has no connection whatsoever with The Yard Media, a business name, registered by Mr. James Brooke-Tyrell or with Mr. James Brooke-Tyrell or any business run by Mr. James Brooke-Tyrell.
High Wire Ltd is a limited liability company.
High Wire Ltd has no connection whatsoever with High Wire Media, a business name, registered by Mr. James Brooke-Tyrell or with Mr. James Brooke-Tyrell or any business run by Mr. James Brooke-Tyrell.
High Wire Ltd has not provided production / post-production facilities for FÁS since 2003 and Yard Media Ltd has never provided production / post-production facilities for FÁS.
Yard Media Ltd and High Wire Ltd are run by Lawrence Fee and Mark Quinn, respectively. Lawrence and Mark are industry professionals, both with over 27 years experience in the film & television industry in Ireland. Lawrence and Mark provide full service production & post–production facilities to the film, advertising, television and corporate sectors.”
James Brooke-Tyrell was a grade seven FAS employee with duties that included film-making to promote and market the agency at home and abroad and record its work. On 6 October he was charged with manufacturing a false tendering process which resulted in cheques totalling €612,950 issued to companies (including "The Yard Media" and "High Wire Media") which he allegedly controls.
