Screen Scene, Piranha Bar, StellarSound and Blinder winners at Kinsale Sharks 2009.
The category and special prizewinners at the Kinsale Sharks Awards held in Kinsale on 11th and 12th September have been announced and Irish advertising talents were honoured with several accolades.
Publicis QMP for TG4 won bronze in the ‘Irish Outdoor, Any Size’ category for their ‘Cement Grave’ DDFH&B Advertising won silver in the ‘Irish Ambient Free Space’ category for their National Lottery advertisements and bronze of that category went to both Leo Burnett for an ad on Channel 6 for ‘The L Word’ called ‘Lipstick on your Collar’ and McCann Erickson NCSS for their ad for Smiles Dental Clinic.
In the category of ‘Irish TV Ad, Any Length’ Silver was awarded to McCann Erickson NCSS for their Cervical Check Changes campaign and the Young Euro prize was given to RSCG‘s ‘Apple, Apple, Apple’ ad for Bulmers Pear. The Bronze prize in the group was given to Publicis QMP for TG4 with their ad ‘The More You Watch, The More You See’
RSCG were awarded another silver award in the ‘Best Irish TV Campaign’ section for their Bulmers campaign. Blinder AIB won gold in the ‘Irish TV Craft, Best Direction’ category for their ad ‘The Surfer’ and Stellarsound won a bronze shark award in the "Best Use of Music" group for a Snack bar ad by Publicis QMP entitled "Snack Orchestra"
Screenscene walked away with three silver shark awards in the ‘Irish TV Best Editing’ category. The three silver sharks were awarded for the editing done on the Bulmers ad campaign for the ads called ‘Pearapy’ and ‘Apple, Apple, Apple’ and the third was awarded for the editing carried out for 3 Ireland’s ‘The Talker’ ad.
Piranha Bar won a bronze shark in the ‘Irish TV, Best Animation’ group for their work on Kellogg’s ‘Rice Krispies Squares Nimbus’ campaign. The ‘Best New Irish Director’ award went to Jason Butler for his 'Tufty' campaign.
