Green Inc Teams With Eugene Higgins For ‘Glorious Gardens’
17 Aug 2009 :
A six part series on gardening is to be produced by Green Inc Film and Television for UTV. ‘Glorious Garden’ will see landscape gardener and Irish gardening expert Eugene Higgins travel across Northern Ireland transforming and revamping tired, dull gardens and public spaces.

A regular contributor for over five years on RTÉ’s ‘The Afternoon Show’ (also produced by Green Inc), Eugene will be taking inspiration from Northern Ireland’s public parks and gardens in his revamp process. Visiting a National Trust property in each episode he will meet the gardeners and tour the grounds, investigating plants and features, and exchanging information and skills as he goes.

Each of the thirty minute programmes will feature one garden/area desperately in need of a make-over. Working from an agreed budget with the relevant owner, Eugene will turn what was once a dull, colourless, overgrown garden into a “glorious” area that will benefit everyone involved.

Throughout the process of transforming the garden Eugene will explain each particular step, the reasons behind his decisions and helpful tips which viewers will be able to understand and utilise in their own gardens.

Directed by Tracie O’ Neill and produced by Deborah Bennett, the upcoming series is currently accepting applications for people to take part in the show. To apply e-mail tv@greeninc.tv before August 21st.
