The Edinburgh Film Festival last night wrapped up it’s two week run with an awards ceremony at the Filmhouse. The Tomm Moore directed animated pic ‘The Secret of Kells’ scooped The Standard Life Audience Award.
The animated film, which was produced by Didier Brunner, Viviane Vanfleteren and Paul Young, was written by Fabrice Ziolkowski and edited by Fabienne Alvarez-Giro.
‘The Secret of Kells’ features the voice of Brendan Gleeson is a spirited retelling of the tale of The Book of Kells.
Festival patrons Sir Sean Connery and Seamus McGarvey were among those presenting the awards last night. ‘Moon’ directed by Duncan Jones received the Michael Powell Award for Best New British Feature Film. Other winners included Katie Jarvis for her performance in ‘Fish Tank’ and ‘Easier With Practice’ won the Best New International Feature gong.
