The Irish Film Board is currently looking for applications for their short film scheme Virtual Cinema; a venture aimed at encouraging the discovery of new and fresh filmmaking in Ireland with no creative holds.
The Board is looking for creative ideas which will exploit exciting, new and old filmmaking techniques all the while holing the attention of a You Tube audience.
Films made under this scheme can be action, fiction, non-fiction or they can use any kind of animation technique. The only brief is that the ideas be quirky and imaginative.
Films applications are accepted in English whilst Irish applications are actively encouraged.
Last year’s shorts can be viewed on a number of websites including the IFB and You Tube.
In this round the IFB are funding a number of films of approximately two minute duration and with a maximum budget of €2,000. Closing date for receipt of applications is Friday 14th August.
