The Irish Film Board has today announced 18 Irish projects that will be presented at the Irish Pavilion during the 2009 Cannes Film Festival. Among the titles and companies who will be attending the festival are Neil Jordan’s ‘Ondine’, Ian Fitzgibbon’s ‘Perriers Bounty’, André Nebe’s ‘The Race’ and Conor McPherson’s ‘The Eclipse’.
The famous French festival, which begins on 13th May and runs until the 24th, is one of the most prestigious in the international film calendar. Other titles that will either be screening in the market or selling at the festival include the animation ‘The Secret of Kells’ (Tomm Moore); ‘A Shine of Rainbows’ (Vic Sarin); ‘Helen’ (Joe Lawlor, Christine Molloy); ‘Vasha’ (Hannu Salonen); 8.5 Hours( Brian Lally); ‘Wide Open Spaces’(Tom Hall); ‘Triage’(Danis Tanovic); ‘The Wake Wood’ (David Keating); ‘Happy Ever Afters’ (Stephen Burke); ‘Outcast’ ( Colm McCarthy); ‘Occi Versus the World’ (Conor McDermottroe); ‘Seaview’ (Nicky Gogan, Paul Rowley); ‘A Film With Me In It’(Ian Fitzgibbon) and ‘A Sporting Jaunt’ (Paul Genron, Kealon O’Donovan).
