Shoreline Entertainment has picked up the worldwide rights to ‘Strength And Honour’, the debut feature written and directed by Mark Mahon, with sales for the film to get underway at the Cannes Film Festival next month.
‘Strength And Honour’ was brought to Shoreline’s attention by the film’s US sales representative Karen Kramer. A deal was then negotiated between Mahon and Shoreline's director of acquisitions Brandon Paine and Sam Eigen - director of worldwide distribution.
The film which was shot in Cork in 2006 stars, Michael Madsen (Reservoir Dogs) as single father who decides to break his dying wife's last wish to not box again in order to save his young son from certain death. Other featured cast includes Vinnie Jones (Snatch), Richard Chamberlain (Black Rain) and Irish actors Patrick Bergin (Sleeping with the Enemy) and Gail Fitzpatrick (Animal Farm), who received an IFTA nomination for her role in the film.
