Kevin Dawson, RTÉ’s Commissioning Editor for Factual Programming, is to leave his current post and move to the broadcaster’s Corporate Centre as the Head of Corporate Communications.
Dawson worked as an award-winning freelance journalist in magazines, daily and Sunday newspapers since the 1980s and was later as a reporter and television producer at RTÉ, producing and directing documentaries, including the co-production ‘Saints and Sinners’ (1997) and the historical series on the bicentenary of 1798, Rebellion.
Among the many titles that Dawson has overseen commissioning of at RTÉ include; ‘At Home With the Clearys’ ‘Cromwell in Ireland’, ‘Bertie’, ‘The Last Confession of Alexander Pearce’ and ‘Chavez: Inside the Coup’ and the doc series’ ‘Arts Lives’ ‘Hidden History’ and ‘Would You Believe?’.
His replacement has not yet been announced by RTÉ.
