Post production house The Element has just completed work on new six part paranormal series ‘Northern Irelands Greatest Haunts’ to begin airing on Wednesday, January 21 on BBC One NI at 10.45pm.
The series made for BBC Northern Ireland and Coco Television, produced by Hilary O’Donovan and directed by David Starkey is a blend of real history, compelling personal stories, investigation and offers unusual insights into the world of the paranormal. Actor James Nesbitt (Five Minutes of Heaven) provides the narration.
Each week a team of paranormal investigators (psychic investigator Andy Matthews has and Marion Goodfellow, one of the UK’s leading mediums and the Northern Ireland Paranormal society) respond to reports of unusual happenings in a given location. The location is of historical interest and people who either live or work there have had first hand experiences of things which can’t simply be explained.
The filming period lasted from August - November 2008 with the following buildings under investigation: Armagh Gaol; Direct Wine Shipments, Belfast; Woburn House, Millisle; Bellaghy Bawn; Limavady Workhouse/Roe Valley Hospital and Galgorm Castle.
Diarmuid Kelly at The Element also recently onlined ‘Desperate Houses Revisited’ for Coco TV. ‘How The Irish Have Sex’ by Red Pepper Productions which was offlined by The Element’s Rossa Lundberg and onlined by Dan Moran has been nominated for an IFTA in the Best Docuemntary Series Category.
