St Johns Central College in Cork would like to congratulate Robert O’Halloran, a recent graduate, on his success of having his claymation film ‘Friend’ selected for the 10th Chicago Irish Film Festival March 6th -11th 2009.
Also congratulations to other recent graduates: Lorraine Nolan and her acceptance onto the M.A programme in film directing in Goldsmiths College in London; John Maguire who has been accepted into the National Film and TV School in England to do a Diploma in Production; Liam Cotter, Dave Kelly and Aoife Harrington on their acceptance onto the final year Degree programme of Video and TV in Sunderland University in England.
Based on Sawmill Street, Cork City, St John’s Central College’s Film and Video Department deliver a wide variety of modules over three years to a large body of enthusiastic film students. Working in a variety of roles for TV Stations, Film and Video production companies, Post Production companies, Multimedia/Advertising companies. Freelance Sound Designers, Music and Picture Editors, Art Director, Production Designer, Location Sound Recordist, Documentary Researcher, Documentary Filmmaker, Film Reviewer.
Students have been successful in screening work produced on the course at many international film festivals.
