Indie distributor Optimum Releasing has secured U.K. theatrical and video rights to Irish director John Crowley's ‘Is Anybody There?’
Crowley (Intermission, Boy A) directs Michael Caine (The Dark Knight), David Morrissey (The Other Boleyn Girl), Anne-Marie Duff (Garage), Leslie Phillips and Bill Milner, in the film which centers on a young boy (Milner) who lives in an old folk's home and strikes up an unexpected friendship with a retired magician (Caine). Duff and David Morrissey play Edward’s parents.
Optimum said the acquisition signals its commitment to distributing British movies of note. The company is will be distributing Steven Soderbergs ‘Che - Part 1’ and Darren Aronofsky’s ‘The Wrestler’.
Written by Peter Harness (Heist), the film is a co-production between Peter Saraf of Big Beach Films (Little Miss Sunshine) and David Heyman of Heyday Films (Harry Potter).
