Actress Amy Adams (Junebug, Ella Enchanted) is to play the lead in a new romantic comedy ‘Leap Year’, to be set in Ireland according to the Hollywood Reporter.
Produced by Spyglass Entertainment, Adams will play a woman who follows an Irish tradition in which she plans to propose her boyfriend on February 29 and he must say yes to her. Adams travels to Dublin for the proposal but when weather derails her trip, she befriends an Irish innkeeper to make the cross-country trek to propose to her boyfriend in time.
Harry Elfont and Deb Kaplan, the scriptwriters behind the romantic comedy ‘Made of Honor’ wrote the screenplay.
With a director still to come board, a mid-February to shoot is set to start in Ireland.
