'Hunger' Premieres in Belfast

Director Steve McQueen, actors Michael Fassbender, Liam Cunningham, Stuart Graham, Brian Milligan, Liam McMahon, writer Enda Walsh and producers Laura Hastings-Smith and Robin Gutch will be in attendance.
The premiere will be hosted by Belfast Film Festival on Thursday 16th October.

'Hunger' follows life in the Maze Prison, Northern Ireland with an interpretation of the highly emotive events surrounding the 1981 IRA Hunger Strike, led by Bobby Sands. With an epic eye for detail, the film provides a timely exploration of what happens when body and mind are pushed to the uttermost limit.

'Hunger' received numerous awards at film festivals during 2008 including acclaimed Camera d’Or, Cannes Film Festival, Discovery Award at Toronto Film Festival, Sydney Film Prize, Sydney Film Festival and Gucci Group Award, Venice Film Festival.

'Hunger' will be released in Ireland & UK on 31 October 2008
