Park Films short ‘Atlantic’ starring Liam Cunningham (Hunger) is currently screening across cinemas with 32A’, principal photography has finished on the Filmbase/TG4 Lasair short ‘Douglas' Hide’, ’Bill, For Short’ will screen at the Heartland Film Festival in the US while shooting has wrapped on 1i Film’s ‘Dust’.
Park Film’s short directed by Conor Ferguson, produced by AnneMarie Naughton (the team behind the short ‘The Wednesdays’) is currently being rolled out alongside Marion Quinn’s ‘32A’ in Movies@Dundrum, Movies@Swords and the EYE Cinema in Galway. The 3 minute short starring Liam Cunningham (Hunger) tells the tale of a lonely farmer and the letter on its way from the woman who loved and left him many years ago. DOP for the film is Cedric Culliton (A Love Divided). The film was shot for 3 days in March of this year in Rosmuc, Co. Galway and was funded by the IFB Short Shorts scheme. The film will screen at the upcoming Foyle Film Festival and Cork Film Festival Fest and in Sundance.

’Bill, For Short’ the new short docu-drama by writer/director Frank Kelly (Emily's Song) of Pale Stone Productions has been selected for Official Competition at the Heartland Film Festival in Indianapolis, US running from 16- 24 October. The film was shot on location in Drogheda and completed in February of this year. The film recounts the story of a young man who finds a pair of his late grandfather's shoes and spends the day walking in his footsteps. Kelly wrote/directed/edited and composed the music for the film which features actor Noel Kelly (George Gently). The film was lensed by John Lawlor (Last Chance). Kelly picked up the Crystal Heart Award along with Thomas A Kennedy at the same festival in 2006 for their short film 'Emily's Song'. 'Emily's Song' recently sold to Mini-Movies and will have a cinema release on 8 screens later this year in Australia, as part of a retrospective with the Heart of Gold International Film Festival.

‘Douglas' Hide’ is based on true events; the film centers on two childhood friends from the opposite side of town who share a passion for hurling but once sporting politics interfere, a bitter fall out is sparked between the locals and the unforeseen consequences for the first President of the country. The cast includes Eamonn Hunt (The Running Mate), Aonghus Óg McNally (Prosperity). Produced by Claire McCaughley, Vincent Gallagher directs from a script by Hugh Travers with Stephen Russell behind the camera as Director of Photography. Belle Phipps and Johnny Mulvanney are on costume and production design.

The independently funded short film ‘Dust’ (formerly ‘Easy Street’) has wrapped its three day shoot in Dublin’s Docklands. ‘Dust’ directed by Brendan Bourke (Fishing on the Sloe- Black River) tells the story of a taxi driver who, when assumed to have knocked down a Latvian man, feels obliged to help by taking the man to his home. The cast includes Anthony Brophy (The Tudors), Amelia Crowley (Stardust) and making their film drama debuts and DOP Stephen Murphy (Fifth Street) who shot on a S16. ‘Dust’ is produced by 1i Films’ Niall O’Suilleabhain and Eamon Connolly.
