One Shot Productions are holding open auditions in Western House Hotel, Galway, on September 13th from 10am till 6pm for their feature film ‘Blood, Sweat and Wars’.
Based on true events that occurred in and around Galway City and County in the early '90's, ‘Blood, Sweat and Wars’, looks at the dealings and feud between Galway's biggest drug suppliers, the two fictional families, the Longs and the Burkes. Aimed at portraying the often unknown underground crime scene of Galway, including drug dealings, bare-knuckle fights and young boys being sold as escort slaves, the film is being produced, written and directed by Galway man Stephen Patrick Kenny whose previous credits include the short ‘So What’.
Lined up to star in the film include former Irish Heavyweight Boxing Champion Joe Egan and Olympic boxer Francis Barrett who previously starred in the award winning documentary based on his progression through the ranks in ‘Southpaw: The Francis Barrett Story’ . Actors Eugene Horan (Ghostwood), Graham Feeley (Kings), Mike Kinsella (The Bill) and Chris Feeney (Fair City) will join the two boxers for the shoot in Galway to commence in January 2009.
Director Kenny welcomes all applicants “from the ages 7 -60 plus” to attend the auditions with a prepared piece.
