David Roddham’s short film ‘Fifth Street’, shot on location in Ireland, is set to screen at the New York International
Independent Film & Video Festival which takes place from 17th-24th July 2008 in Los Angeles.
The 14 minute short, produced by Dave Leahy at Dublin’s Warrior Films, is Roddham’s directorial debut and stars Tim Dillard (City of Ember) and Roger Yuan (Shanghai Noon, Blade), who also co-wrote the short with Roddham.
The film was shot on location in Dublin in September 2007 on Super 35mm using Arricam ST's and 435's supplied by The Production Depot. DOP on the shoot was Stephen Murphy (Bog Bodies, Porcelain). Lighting was supplied by Cine Electric with post-production completed by Screen Scene.
UK-born Roddham, who resides in Ireland, has a background in special effects, working as a special effects technician on films including ‘The Wind that Shakes the Barley’ and ‘Saving Private Ryan’.
‘Fifth Street’ tells the story of a mysterious syndicate who every Thursday attend at game of Texas Hold'em at the 187 Club, something every professional criminal aspires to. All the Syndicate asks in return is complete loyalty.
Roddham is currently developing the feature length version of ‘Fifth
Street’ entitled ‘Stolen City’, planned to shoot in Ireland. Test scenes from ‘Stolen City’ have already been shot using the new Red One HD Camera supplied by Production Depot and will soon be available online.
