Northern Ireland Screen is to sponsor a team of writers to attend this year’s Screenwriters' Festival in Cheltenham (1– 3 July 2008).
Led by Niall Leonard (Silent Witness, Ballykissangel), the NIS team will have the opportunity to get access to top names attending the festival and spend a few days networking with other writers, Producers and Commissioners.
Places are limited and there is a strict criteria for those wishing to attend and this offer is not for entry-level writers.
The bursary is only open to writers resident for tax purposes in N.I.
Essential Criteria:
• Screenwriters must have already had at least one feature film script(s) produced.
• Experienced television drama writers with at least one commission or broadcast credit.
• Experienced creative writers (theatre, fiction, poetry) with at least one third party published work or stage play credit.
Other criteria
• Writers with previous work funded by Northern Ireland Screen
• Writers represented by an agent
All applicants must show how attendance at SWF 08 would benefit them professionally as a writer.
