BAFTA TV Nods for ‘Murphy’s Law’ & ‘Boy A’
25 Mar 2008 :
Boy A
The Irish filmed drama series ‘Murphy’s Law’ and ‘Boy A’, from Irish director / writer team John Crowley and written by Mark O’Rowe, are among the nominees for this year’s BAFTA Television Awards.

‘Murphy’s Law’ stars Northern Irish actor James Nesbitt as undercover cop Tommy Murphy. The Irish filmed BBC NI series receives its first BAFTA nomination this year in the Drama Serial category and faces competition from Channel 4’s ‘Britz’ and other BBC dramas ‘Cranford’ and ‘Five Days’.

‘Boy A’, directed by Irish helmer John Crowley and written by Irish writer Mark O’Rowe, is named among the Single Drama nominations. ‘Coming Down the Mountain’, ‘The Mark of Cain’ and ‘The Trial of Tony Blair’ are also in the running. ‘Boy A’ is a Cuba Pictures production for Channel 4 and was screened to critical acclaim at the Berlin Film Festival and on Channel 4 in late 2007. ‘Boy A’ actor Andrew Garfield is given the nod in the Best Actor category for his starring role in the drama which he played a rehabilitated child criminal released into society as an adult.
