Irish-Swedish co-production ‘Alarm’, written and directed by Gerry Stembridge (About Adam, Nora), wraps a five week shoot on location in Dublin and Wicklow this Friday 7th December.
The €1.3 million budget feature, co-produced by Venus Film and Television and Swedish production company Göta Film, shot from 5th November-7th December on location in Dublin and Roundwood, Wicklow.
The psychological thriller, set in Dublin’s commuter belt stars IFTA winning actress Ruth Bradley (Sinners, Stardust), Owen Roe (Ballykissangel, Intermission), Tom Hickey (Inside I'm Dancing, Garage), Anita Reeves (The Butcher Boy,Adam and Paul), Emmet Bergin (Veronic Guerin, The Lilac Bus) and up and coming Irish actor Aidan Turner.
‘Alarm’ follows a young woman, Molly (Bradley), who moves from the city to a housing estate outside Dublin where her idyllic suburban life quickly begins to unravel.
"The shoot has gone fantastically well,” producer Marina Hughes told IFTN. “It has been a really interesting production as the film is set in a new housing estate at the height of the Irish property boom, chronicling events that take place over one Winter."
The pic was shot on Super 16 Format by DOP Bruno De Keyzer, who shot Stembridge’s 2000 flic ‘About Adam’. Other ‘About Adam’ crew on the film include production designer Fiona Daly and costume designer Eimer Ni Mhaoldomhnaigh.
Produced by Anna Devlin and Marina Hughes and edited by Mary Finlay, ‘Alarm’ was funded by the Irish Film Board, the Broadcasting Commission of Ireland, Section 481 and RTE, and is mooted to be delivered in late 2008/early 2009.
