Cóilín Ó Scolaí, a director on Ireland’s only Irish language soap ‘Ros na Rún’ has joined the tutoring team for the Higher Diploma in Television Production at the Waterford Institute of Technology, run in conjuncion with Nemeton Television.
Now in its second year, the course, which is taught through Irish, goes through the production process in making a documentary. New tutor Cóilín Ó Scolaí will be working alongside Mikey Ó Flatharta whose credits include the IFTA nominated documentary ‘The Brothers’.
Training and Development Manager Miriam Mulrennan said of the appointment: “It is a great credit to the course that we are able attract tutors of such high standing in the industry. It is our aim to give the students the best possible opportunites now to help them further their careers. We are delighted to have Cóilín and Mikey working on the course and we are sure that this years students will be just as successful as last years graduates.”
The Higher Diploma in Television Production is run by Nemeton in conjunction with Waterford Institute of Tecnology. There are no fees for this course as it is funded by Údarás na Gaeltachta. Anyone seeking information should contact Tríona Uí Bhroin on 058-46499.
