Clones Reveals Scanbitz Panel

Producer Alan Moloney (Intermission, Breakfast On Pluto), director Kevin Allen (Twin Town), author and festival patron Pat McCabe (The Butcher Boy) and Colin McKeown (Stella Artois 15 Second Film Festival) will decide the winners of the Scanbitz 3 Day Film Challenge.

The competition invites entries from experienced filmmakers to script, shoot, edit and screen a short film over the weekend of the festival which takes place from 24th to the 28th of October. The awards have been named 'The Francies' after the character in The Butcher Boy which celebrates its 10th anniversary at the festival.

In addition to a cash prize, the winners will receive a Waterford Crystal trophy and the Clones Film Festival will promote the winning films to broadcasters and other film festivals.

Closing date for receipt of entries is Friday 5th October 2007 and all entries must be by email.

Alan Moloney will also In-Conversation on Saturday night after a screening of his film about the late great Joe Strummer 'The Future Is Umwritten'.
