New Home-Grown Series in TG4’s Autumn Schedule

TG4 have launched their new Autumn schedule, which includes a range of comedy drama series along with lots of sport, music and entertainment from home-grown talent.

New drama series include four-part series ‘The Running Mate’, a comic look at the infighting and skulduggery of former party colleagues as they fight it out in a rural Irish constituency. The series kicks of at 9.30pm on Wednesday 26th September.

‘Paddywhackery’, is a six-part comedy drama series that lifts the lid on industrial development, Irish-style with assistance from acting legends Fionnuala Flanagan and Frank Kelly, and begins at 9.30pm, Wednesday 24th October

New additions to the station’s musical line-up include series ‘Canúintí Ceoil’, which celebrates regional music styles while wondering if they can survive the global iPod era. The series airs at 10pm, Sundays from 30th September.

For documentary lovers, ‘Cogar’ is an eye-opening range of new original documentaries including topics as diverse as the pre-Mafia Irish mobs in the US, recent infamous murder cases in Ireland and Ireland’s last cycling postman.

‘Daithí ar Route 66’, airing in late November, will follow Kerry weatherman Daithi O Se as he samples the strange and the wondrous as he travels one of the USA’s most fabled road journeys.

New 12-part cookery show ‘Blaisini Beath’ will feature well known faces who talk about their tastes in food, while Aoileann Garavaglia cooks some of their favourite meals and Richie Ó hEadhra chats to them about their careers and lifestyle. Beginning Friday 28th September, 7.30 pm.

Cúla4, a customised daily five-hour service in Irish for kids and young people with brand new ‘Spongebob Squarepants’ and ‘Skunk Fu’, along with series two of IFTA-award winning series ‘Aifric’. Cúla4 na nÓg a breakfast time segment for pre-school kids that will bring ‘Sesame Street’ as Gaeilge for the first time

A wide variety of sport will be screened, with exclusive live Gaelic games coverage every weekend, All-Ireland Finals in Under-21 hurling and Ladies Football and AIB club championship matches each Sunday.

Old favourites back this season include dating show ‘Paisean Faisean’, rural soap ‘Ros na Run’ and ‘Mi na Meala’ and at the current affairs end, ‘Nuacht TG4’ and ‘7 La’.
