Tom Collin’s bi-lingual Irish feature film ‘Kings’ has been announced the winner of the Screen Directors Guild of Ireland Directors Finders Series.
As the winner of the Directors Finders Series, ‘Kings’ will be screened at the SDG of America’s theatre in LA to an audience of American distributors, with a view to securing a US distribution deal for the film.
Starring Colm Meaney, Donal O’Kelly and Brendan Conroy, ‘Kings’ follows the story of a group of six young men who leave their homes in the West of Ireland in the mid 70’s to go to England in the hope of making their fortunes before returning home thirty years later for the funeral of a friend.
Collins will be officially announced the winner of the Finders Series at an event in Dublin later this month which will be attended by filmmakers Jim Sheridan and John Carney and John Fletcher of Pathe UK, who will be taking part in a Q&A session on distribution/industry issues on the night.
'Small Engine Repair' and 'Pavee Lackeen' are previous winners of the Finders Series.
